First I'd like to thank you for visiting my site
My name is Pascal Haldenstein and I live in Switzerland. I am an "Aviationaholic". I'm 17 years old and I go to grammar school. I've always dreamed of being pilot and so I started a few years ago with flightsimming. But I wanted a more realistic experience than just desktopflying and so I started to build my own Homecockpit. I've been doing this for about a year now and I have to say that this is the best hobby in the world.
On weekends after I finished homework I go to my hobbyroom and work on my sim or chat with people from the mycockpit community. Really great site btw, definitely worth a look. Although my English isn't perfect the people understand it and they help my a lot with questions.
When I finish studying in 2 years I'd like to do the ATPL (airline transport pilot licence).
The Sim: Before you start building a sim you have to choose a type of aircraft you want to build. Do you like Airbus or Boeing or do you even want to build a generic 'pit or the workplace of a business jet pilot......
I decided to re-build a Boeing 737 NG cockpit because I like the aircraft and there are the most parts for building such a cockpit available on the market.
It IS a fact that this hobby is very expensive. A lot of people say they can't afford a Homecockpit. I know the road to such a goal is long; especially in my case (student). But as soon as you start building or when you get your first parts delivered I'm sure anybody who has the "aviation-blood" in his veins won't want to give the parts away. Never!!
